How i see Danfe..

How i see Danfe..

In a country with a comparatively low literacy rate (63.9 % literate population and among them 53.1% literate female population) vocational training is a alternative way aimed at developing knowledge and skills that prepares an individual for a speci?c profession. Vocational training for women in rural areas is a new concept. The woman in urban areas and rural areas, lead different lifestyles. They are deprived from many opportunities and facilities that are provided easily to the women in urban areas. Women in rural areas are ?nancially dependent. Their educational background is mostly limited to basic primary level schooling. This leads to economic and social backwardness in a long run. These are the main reasons for most of the individual, family and community’s social problems.

The deep rooted attitude about women’s role in our economy and society cannot be totally eradicated just yet. But thanks to the NGO and INGO providing vocational training and basic education to marginalized women and girls, they have been able to contribute in economy and empowerment but the mainstream attitudes and norms still exist. Vocational training help women become more empowered as they provide skills and along with it comes con?dence and independency (social and ?nancial). Only after our other half of the population are empowered, then we will be able to reach the desired future, isn’t it?

“If opportunity doesn’t knock on your door then build a door”. We cannot always wait for opportunities to approach us,we need to build them and make things happen. This is what I believe “DANFE” has been doing for the past two years, building doors for marginalized women. Danfe has created a nice and comfortable working space for these girls. That’s where all the magic happens. DANFE’s production and training both goes simultaneously. Once we enter the training center and production unit, we can see all the hustle and bustle of the Danfe girls trying out different concepts of tailoring, the production unit working to meet their targets, the teachers and fashion designer working together in a team. And this is the reason i feel proud to be a part of this dynamic team. With motivation, everyday i contribute to what Danfe has been working for.
