Higher Order Thinking Skills

Higher Order Thinking Skills

After the third year of social skills development, the children will have workshops on Higher Order Thinking (HOT) Skills in their fourth year. “Cognitive development such as higher order of thinking is an essential skill to be understood among peers.” The skills include understanding, reasoning , connecting, categorising, synthesising, creating, evaluating and implementing in various situations they are in. The workshop is directly linked with the previous workshop Year 3: Social Skill . The workshop will create that transition to ensure the beneficiaries will understand the importance of high order of thinking.  Development of audience analysis, motivation, social behaviour, decision making and positive self image will be the underlying factors within the workshop.

In this year the children will have monthly workshops with focus on 3 topics namely Critical thinking, Creative thinking and Problem solving skills. There will be fun activity based sessions where children will use their public speaking, leadership and social skills within their group and develop their higher order thinking skills. They will have a wonderful experience of learning together with fun!
