Zero Waste July!

"The global textile industry produces
approximately 92 million tonnes of waste annually, equating to a garbage truck full of clothes every second."

"This figure is projected to increase to 134 million tonnes by 2030 if current consumption trends continue."
"The global market for recycled textiles is expected to grow significantly, with estimates suggesting it could reach
$5 billion by 2025.

This growth presents economic opportunities for businesses that invest in sustainable practices and technologies."
"Circularity in Fabric"
“Circularity in Fabric” is more than just a zero-waste initiative. It’s a movement led by women from marginalized communities who are turning fabric waste into opportunity. Through advanced training, sustainable design, and a strong market linkage with Danfe Works, this project weaves together environmental sustainability and economic empowerment.
WATCH NOW
In collaboration with Danfe, the pilot phase of the “Circularity in Fabric” initiative has been successfully completed. The project focused on transforming fabric waste into zero-waste recycled textile. A total of 300 kilograms of fabric waste generated by Danfe Works was converted into approximately 850 meters of new fabric engaging over 20 women in the process. Currently, the process of product prototyping using this recycled material is underway.
"On average, recycling 100 kilograms of waste fabric yields around 250 to 300 meters of zero-waste fabric."
By reducing landfill waste and supporting Nepal’s national sustainability goals, this collaboration shows how circular economy models can protect the planet while creating long-term livelihoods.
