SAATH Newsletter: May Issue

Highlight of the Month
In collaboration with the European Union in Nepal, we continue to work with the women producers of Janakpur at "Mithila by Danfe". Mithila by Danfe is an initiative dedicated to celebrating the vibrant cultural heritage of the Madhesh region through Mithila art.
The project will focus on research on the traditional practices of tattoo and blending them with Mithila art to come up with products that celebrate our culture and indigenous practices. Additionally, the participants will take part in economic activities for Mithila by Danfe.
"We make your clothes."

After four months of training, the project participants in Kathmandu have grown confident in their skills. They are now well-versed in design and pattern making and are consistently producing quality products. While many have begun working from home after training hours, others are eager to collaborate with enterprises to further pursue tailoring as a means of income generation.

In order to make their training wholesome we are also providing Machine Repair workshops as a support service for the training participants. This is one part of the support services we provide to make their experience complete at our training center. This, we believe supports them in working independently after the training period ends.

5 years come to a new start

We wrapped up a meaningful 5-year journey with the 11 incredible children of Hakuna Matata- capacity building in May. From joining us as 7th graders to now stepping into their undergraduate journeys, watching them grow has been truly rewarding.

All the children are now a part of Hakuna Matata Sponsorship Fund, which will further empower them in this next chapter of life. We see great things unraveling for the incredible 11 in the coming days.

Join us for the Embroidery Training!
Danfe Works is our Sustainability Partner.

Together with Danfe, we have introduced an Embroidery course open to anyone interested in learning and applying embroidery skills. This training will be a continuous initiative, providing long-term support to SAATH's training participants. The cost of the Embroidery course starts at NPR 400. The participants will learn over 10 hand embroidery stitches. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to create an embroidered product to take home.
