of cultural skills and traditions...

On November 11, 2024, a two-member team from SAATH and Danfe Works Enterprises Nepal traveled from Kathmandu to Bhojpur and Khotang districts to conduct a study on the Local, Indigenous, and Traditional Knowledge and Skills of Indigenous communities in Tyamke Maiyung Rural Municipality and Diktel Majhuwagadi Municipality.

The study focused on engaging with local communities to identify traditional skills at risk of extinction and explore opportunities for their revival as income-generating and enterprise development initiatives. Over six days, the team held consultations and discussions with key stakeholders, including community members and artisans specializing in nature-based skills, to gather insights and foster collaboration.

The seven-day visit to Bhojpur and Khotang, two rural hill districts of Nepal, provided the SAATH and Danfe teams with a deeply enriching and insightful experience. Renowned for their natural beauty and cultural diversity, these regions also boast a wealth of untapped resources. The study underscored the vast potential these areas hold, which, with strategic investments and focused support, could drive meaningful socio-economic development.

Partners Meeting with ONGD FNEL
A two-day partners' meeting with ONGD-FNEL brought together 13 partner organizations in the vibrant city of Pokhara. The event featured a comprehensive impact evaluation training on the first day, equipping participants with valuable skills to measure and enhance their initiatives. The second day fostered meaningful networking opportunities and the sharing of organizational experiences, creating a platform for collaboration and mutual learning. Insightful and engaging, the event strengthened partnerships and laid the groundwork for future impactful collaborations.
