AWASAR

Product-based Advanced Level Training at Dhanushadham

As a part of their Advanced Level Training, Batch E participants of Tailoring and Mithila Art are focused on market based products at the moment. We have increased the pool of the participants in the Advanced Level of Training who have been working on diverse skills including Crochet, Embroidery and other Crafts work.

Business Management and Financial Literacy

Training on Business Management and Financial Literacy is a crucial part of our training program. As the project participants become a part of the vocational training, we also facilitate additional training which supports them to run their home-based businesses. This time we extended the training to the members of the community who had received some form of skill-based training but were in a dilemma to take the next step. The training supported their understanding of the business setup and financial management in two full days of learning engagement.

HAKUNA MATATA

Workshop on Higher Order of Thinking

The fourth workshop of the fourth year on Higher Order of Thinking was completed this month. The workshop was on “Evaluation” which focused on expressing one's own opinion and evaluating information. The children had to think about how they would act in specific situations and actively discuss with each other in one of the activities. The difference between fact and opinion was also practiced during the workshop. The workshop facilitated the practice of openness to new ideas and opinions and change following the openness as one of the important aspects of the learning objective.

Computer Literacy Classes

The children of Parahu Learning Center are continuously receiving Computer Literacy classes at our training center in Dhanushadham. Over the past few months, the facilitators also learned how to handle and use applications on the computer. Today the facilitators are supporting the learning of the children in weekly classes.

We are still raising funds for Hakuna Matata and Parahu on the GlobalGiving platform. The support received will directly be used to facilitate the capacities of the children and facilitators in Janakpur and Kathmandu.
