AWASAR

We conducted a Monitoring visit to Janakpur this month and met with the beneficiaries of Batch E. During the visit we also met with the members of Awasar Women’s Collective to discuss the way forward. In consultation with the members, we have set up a Contingency Fund for the group to support their financial needs.

HAKUNA MATATA

Capacity-building

The children of Hakuna Matata this month were introduced to digital literacy which was made possible through the laptops supported by Daraz Nepal. The monthly workshop on Social Skills also took place followed by a Dashain celebration before the children left for their homes to celebrate with their families.

Parahu

Parahu-capacity-building was initiated last month with the identification of 10 children from senior grades. This month we provided a TOT to the 4 facilitators of Parahu Learning Center. The 10 children were also provided a workshop on Public Speaking to support their confidence and communication skills.

We are thankful to Daraz Nepal for supporting the children of Hakuna Matata and Parahu with 20 laptops and a projector. The laptops will be used to support the digital literacy of the children which has become very instrumental in this day.

We are still raising funds for Hakuna Matata and Parahu on the GlobalGiving platform. The support received will directly be used to facilitate the capacities of the children and facilitators in Janakpur and Kathmandu.
