AWASAR

Engagement at the Local Level
As a part of our ongoing investigation at the community level, we have been engaging with the representatives of municipalities in addition to the current work location. The objective of the engagement is to identify communities that are most in need and to garner support from the local level for sustained efforts.

Recently, the team members in Dhanushadham met with the representatives of Mithila Bihari and Chireshwore Municipality to briefly introduce our work and explore potential areas of collaboration at the local level. In addition to the representatives, we have been engaging with the community members to understand their expectations and needs

From Scrap to Accessories
The scrap fabric is used by the beneficiaries to create accessories that are in demand at the local market.

HAKUNA MATATA

Computer Literacy for the children

As a part of our capacity-building project, a group of 10 children has been identified who are trained in Public Speaking once every month. In addition to the public speaking skills, this month we introduced computer literacy for this group of children. Children were curious and eager to learn and be comfortable with the laptops in the first few sessions. Now they are learning typing skills in support of our Project Coordinator.

We are still raising funds for Hakuna Matata and Parahu on the GlobalGiving platform. The support received will directly be used to facilitate the capacities of the children and facilitators in Janakpur and Kathmandu.
