AWASAR

Towards the conclusion of the fourth batch of Mithila and Tailoring Training, we have now been able to engage with 91 women and adolescent girls from Janakpur. With the training almost toward the end for this batch, the needs assessment to welcome the new batch of trainees from different communities is ongoing. A total of 32 beneficiaries will join us in August for the Basic and Advanced Level of Tailoring and Mithila Art training.

Our current work is focused on creating a market linkage to support the increased income of our beneficiaries. In close collaboration with Danfe Works Enterprises Nepal, we are working on introducing products that are market/ demand driven.

SAATH participated in an intimate discussion on Gender Bias at Workplace this month. The discussion was organized by International Development Institute in collaboration with Ms. Bidhya Manandhar, an expert in GESI and a professor at Connecticut University.

We are still raising funds for Hakuna Matata and Parahu on the GlobalGiving platform. The support received will directly be used to facilitate the capacities of the children in Janakpur and Kathmandu.
