Here’s what happened this month at SAATH: 

AWASAR

Conclusion of Batch C

We distributed tailoring machines to 12 beneficiaries who were a part of our 6-month long Tailoring training. The machine will be owned by them and will be used to sharpen the skills learnt throughout the training period. With the conclusion of Batch C, 8 beneficiaries will be selected and forwarded to Advanced level training. As we concluded the third batch of Tailoring and Mithila 

The fourth installment begins 

On February 1, a new batch of beneficiaries joined us at our training center in Dhanushadham. Along with the Basic level of training, Advanced level for both Tailoring and Mithila art has also begun. The beneficiaries selected are from nearby villages of Makkhanpur, Tejnagar, Mungraha, and Rampur.

Mithila Art for Sale

We are continuing with the selling of Mithila art made by the advanced level beneficiaries who have created Mithila Art reflecting on their day to day engagements and the values the art holds.The Art is on display at SAATH and we will be selling the hand painted Mithila Art using different platforms. You can directly reach us at 9841376277 to learn more about the variety we have and purchase them. The proceeds from the sales will be provided to the artists.

HAKUNAMATATA

Capacity Building

This month, Daraz, an e-commerce company through its CSR initiative supported the 11 children of Hakuna Matata with Art supplies. An interaction session with the team was organized at SAATH premises where the team engaged with the children through activity based learning. 

In addition to this, two international interns from Denmark have joined the team and will be closely working with the children. They organized a team building activity for the children this month.

Project Parahu

Celebration at the Learning Center
On the occasion of Saraswoti Puja, the facilitators of the community learning center organized a day long celebration. Children of the learning center participated in different activities and were awarded medals and gifts. The children also put up a show and participated in dancing, drama and singing on the occasion of Saraswati Puja.

To support the community of children for a sustained and longer period, we are still raising funds for the learning center. The fund raised will support more than 200 children along with the 3 facilitators of a Musahar community who visit the learning center every day to conduct literacy classes for the children in the community.
