Newsletter 2022: April Issue

AWASAR

This month we visited Janakpur as part of our Monitoring and Evaluation along with a team representing ONGD FNEL who traveled from Luxembourg to connect with the community of our work. We interacted with our past and present beneficiaries of tailoring training and Mithila art training. The team also went for the community visit and home visit of beneficiaries to get a better picture of our beneficiaries' environment.

The past beneficiaries of our training program formed Awasar Women's Collective during our visit this time. A 12 members collective was formed primarily to converge women wanting to pursue leadership and conversational skills.

With the support of our Mithila Art trainer, we remodeled our community-based tailoring shop to make it a major attraction for the community.

We attended the Partners Workshop organized by ONGD FNEL this month. The partners' workshop was a wonderful opportunity for us to meet and network with diverse organizations actively working to support and address social issues.

HAKUNA MATATA

Capacity-building

We conducted an activity based workshop for this month, focusing on general skills such as self regulation and specific skills such as Delayed gratification and Frustration tolerance. The activities based session helped children to introspect their attitude towards the different scenarios in day to day activities.

Parahu

Similarly, for Project Parahu we were able to identify 11 children with whom we will soon be working on capacity-building workshops. The facilitators will be provided with a TOT in the first part of the workshop delivery.

Our international volunteers are taking an initiative to raise funds to support the children belonging to low-income families and ethnic minorities from the slum areas of Kathmandu through a global giving platform. The raised fund will be utilized to help 11 children with their capacity building workshops.
