PROGRAM UPDATE
Here’s what happened this month at SAATH:

AWASAR

The training on Tailoring and Mithila Art at the Basic and Advanced level is an ongoing activity for Program Awasar at Dhanushadham. As a part of our monitoring and evaluation process, we visited Dhanushadham from September 20-24, 2021. During the visit, we began the training on Business Management and Financial Literacy for our Batch A and Batch B beneficiaries who have graduated from Basic/ Advanced Level of their training.

We were also able to participate in the local Haat Bazaar to encourage our past beneficiaries to connect with the local market after the first phase of training. During the visit, we organized a brief excursion for our beneficiaries to Janaki Temple and rejoiced with them.
Project Sashaktikaran is currently supporting 5 women through task-oriented home-based employment opportunity at Danfe Works Enterprises Nepal. With the support of The Pollination Project grant, we have been supporting 5 women through on-the-job training.
HAKUNA MATATA

Year 2 of Hakuna Matata is almost coming to an end. Monthly workshops have been completed for the 11 children. We are currently conducting a Boot Camp on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Right (SRHR) where we are covering some of the most neglected issues related to reproductive health, gender orientation and expression, stigmas related to gender and sexual health, family planning, consent, choice, STIs, laws related to SRHR, abortion, safe space and peer support, amongst others.

We are now a permanent member of the GlobalGiving community. We have been able to raise $5235 from 53 wonderful individuals so far. Project Parahu will support a learning center based in Dhanushadham. The fund raised will support 190 children along with the 3 facilitators of a Musahar community who visit the learning center every day to conduct literacy classes for the children in the community. The project will begin very soon.

To support the community of children for a sustained and longer period, we are still raising funds for the learning center.
