From the most rural to the most deprived section of the Nepalese ethnic group, we found 35 girls who were willing to change their lives with the help of a skill.

They have the willpower to leave their families 100 miles away and start living along with versatile group of people whom they have never met, across various parts of Nepal. They belong to diverse ethnic groups who speaks different languages, culture and caste system.

The project DANFE has been initiated after the disastrous “earthquake” on 2015. It has already been a year and has been running successfully. SAATH organization has brought these girls together who are willing to work, to lead an independent live. To empower these girls SAATH has initiated a skill based training on tailoring, however project Danfe is not limited just to tailoring.

These Danfe girls gets to involve in other other activities besides tailoring training like dance and drama classes, informal educational workshops, psychological counseling and many more.
As a local NGO in Nepal, SAATH focuses on the empowerment of women and girls from the age of 17 to 25 as they are disproportionately affected by poverty and discrimination and suffer abuse and violations in the realization of their rights, entitlements and access and control over resources. Also, experience shows that, when equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities overcome poverty, marginalization and social injustice.
