Home Visit…. Extended to Kaski District

Home Visit…. Extended to Kaski District

In 2013, we extended our Hakuna Matata program to Kaski District. Since then, we have been continuously providing educational and moral support to 10 children in Kaski through different capacity building workshops. This was the first time we made an attempt to do Home Visit in Kaski, unlike in Kathmandu, where we have been doing monthly home visit.

During the home visit, we got to observe our beneficiaries’ day to day life. People, who are living with HIV, also have to live with the medicine that they need to take every day. This was the other side of our beneficiaries’ life. The intake of high dosage medicines though helps to fight with the HIV virus, the stigma that the society holds can’t change along. Infection with poverty is even painful but still, they have learned to smile and live the life till it goes on.

As I enter the tiny dark room, the first thing I noticed was hopeful eyes accompanied by soft gestures that gave me a warm welcome to their struggling yet beautiful life

This home visit was important for us to get details of our Hakuna Matata children in terms of their needs and wants which will help us further to improvise the Hakuna Matata program for these kids.
