15 Nov A gateway to children’s life – Home Visit
“Those tiny feet and deep eyes look out for colorful dreams but in reality what remains is the harsh reality that they have to live daily and the fact is now they are happy enough to live in the way it is because home is where the heart lies.”
Home Visit has become an essential tool for us to understand children’s behavior and their way of living in a better way. In our recent visits, we observed the physical and emotional environment of the place where the children stay. We came to know that, for children what matters the most is the comfort and the lively vibes they get from the surroundings they live in. Children were happy to have us there and spent quality time together. But when we asked them if they would leave their room and come with us, they simply nodded their head saying no.
We started our Home Visit 6 months ago and till now our initiation is creating a gradual impact in living standard of our beneficiaries. We could see the changes they brought in their behavior, in their ways of talking and in their overall living style, we notice the level of sanitation and hygiene was substantially getting better in most of the beneficiaries house.
This impact has motivated us to continue our Home Visit frequently. Till now we have not intervene in any of the matter related to beneficiaries but in near future if it became a need then through home visit we will slowly try to intervene and counsel the children as well as parents.
