Business Management second session

Business Management second session

The objective of today’s session was to impart knowledge regarding financial literacy. After the first session with the girls, we decided to scale up our preparation as the girls exceeded our expectation in their knowledge of business management. We started our session with the deliverable of the session and what the girls could look forward in the day. Initially we explained the concept of revenue and expenditure along with their types. We were very pleased to see the girls opening up and participating in the class. They got to learn how to keep records of various incomes and expenditures occurring in the business and how to calculate profit or loss. We conducted a class activity where the girls were asked to calculate the return of their previous session i.e. boat selling activity. The girls also got acquainted with different types of revenues and expenditures along with some tricks to maximize revenue and reducing cost. We also shed some light on the different types of accounts that can be maintained in bank like current account, fixed deposit account, savings account and benefits of each type of account.

With the knowledge regarding simple and compound interest we hope the girls will be able to effectively handle their borrowings in near future. Finally, we concluded the session by reflecting back on the learning of the day along with three assignments which will help the girls to test their understanding.
With each sessions passing by, the girls are exceeding our expectations. Today, we were astonished to see many of the girls knowing the basics of calculations. We also got familiar with the girls and got a brief idea as to who are the smartest and who needs some more guidance which we will take into account in the future. Overall, today’s session was very informative and we hope the girls would be able to apply the learning in their business in coming days.
